Party Poker Review
Party poker heads up high stakes table in action
Party Poker was once the largest poker site on the Internet. They had about 70% of the US poker market. But since Party Poker was in such a tight relationship with US banks, American investors and the American stock market (NASDAQ) they saw no other option than to comply with the UIEGA legislation. The decision to shut down and deny all American poker players to play real money poker at Party Poker was made mid-term 2006. At first the poker tables was almost empty but at the time of writing, in late 2009, they have started to regain their position as a top 10 competitor in the industry – using Europe as source for filling up their poker tables and tournaments.
Cash Game (Ring Game)
The cash games at Party Poker used to be extremely good. Today when only Europeans are sitting at the tables it’s actually a bit harder. But the Party Poker spirit still lives on, and the games are still a bit easier than most other poker rooms out there. You can play cash game stakes from $0.01-o.02 up to $25-$50 no limit Texas Hold’em. Party Poker doesn’t support the highest poker stakes on the internet, but their limits are sufficient for most players.
Party Poker Tournaments
The multi-table tournaments at Party Poker covers the needs of any poker player. They offer shoot-out tournaments that are differentiating Party Poker from other Internet poker sites. In these shoot-out tournaments, every 10 players are seated at a table, when 3 players remain the table will freeze and when all start up tables have 3 players remaining, the players are re-seated at new 10 seat tables, all while the players get to keep their stacks they had at their previous table! Party Poker also covers the normal line-up of multi table poker tournaments. From $1 buy-ins up to $1000 and sometimes even higher for the poker games Texas Hold’em No Limit and Limit, Omaha Pot Limit, 7 Card Stud. The player levels usually are about 100 up to 500 per tournament, making the possibility to cash in money bigger compared to websites that have over 1500 players in their tournaments.
Party Poker is operated by Party Gaming that also run several other related games and websites. For example Party Casino, Party Gammon, Party Bets and their latest addition Party Markets. Party Gaming is a very reliable company and they are always fair to the players and provide good customer support. Party Gaming was founded 1997. Their CEO is Jim Ryan.
